Happy birthday if you’re celebrating a birthday this June! Even though you’re always the same person, it’s a new season for you, and we hope it will be a special one. Similarly, pearls are always the same classic gem, but there are always different approaches on how to rock them. Here are some examples on how to take this perfect spring to summer gem from day to evening.
Daytime
Pearls have always been accepted as day and office-appropriate, but we suggest wearing pearls to contrast instead of complement. For example, a simple pearl strand with a silk blouse or cardigan is expected. Instead, throw multi-coloured pearls on over a vintage or rock tee or denim shirt worn backwards. Casual tops or fabrics (cotton, linen, chambray) are elevated by the bright, smooth pearls. We especially love Tahitian pearls, which are darker, against denim for an understated daytime chic.
Evening
With a nod to Nicole Kidman’s Chanel No.5 commercial, show off the way pearls glow against all skin tones by wearing a long pearl strand with an open back top or dress. Another favourite evening look is to layer on pearls of different sizes, tones and lengths to create a bib look. Pearls are excellent for this all-out style, because the colour and lustre is simple enough to never look gaudy, no matter how many ropes of pearls you have on.
Anytime
When Don Draper said, Make it simple, but significant, we feel like a single long pearl necklace always achieves this effect. A pearl tassel pendant can add a youthful bohemian touch to a daytime outfit, and enhance your movement on a night out. Another look that is timeless on anyone is our single Y-strand with an enhancer clasp, which stands out without being loud, and pulls off being classic and unique at the same time.
We hope this has given you some new ideas for different ways you can incorporate pearls into your outfits this season. Do come by and see even more pearl pieces we have in store, including gold pearls and pink pearls.
